Schedules are created and maintained in the Schedule Manager. You can either create a schedule by copying an existing schedule — as described in this topic — or create one from scratch.
When copying from another schedule, certain elements will not copy unless there is corresponding infrastructure.
If you intend to rename or retire certain elements, we recommend you do so AFTER you copy all of the elements from the source schedule.
Choosing a production, or Locked, state means that you intend to use this schedule for actual scheduling purposes. You cannot delete a locked schedule unless you remove all scheduling artifacts and reset the schedule to transient.
Create the schedule. We recommend that you copy at least the periods & offerings.
Enroll students.
Select Students from the Jump to Module pull-down list in the upper right corner.
Select Schedule Manager from the Scheduling menu, and that window opens.
Click Create Schedule, and the New Schedule window opens.
Complete the fields as described.
Description: Enter a name for the schedule — for example, Middle School or HS Trimester.
Instructional Period: Select from the pull-down list. Note: If you don't see the period for which you want to create a schedule, it must be added in Admin > District > Instr. Periods.

Select the schedule elements you want to copy by checking/unchecking the boxes. Available elements are: periods, homerooms, skill sets, grading policies, offerings, sections, and instructor assignments. Note: Sections are only available when copying offerings, and instructor assignments are only available when copying sections.

The calendar is created by default, but may need modification. If you copied periods, the period layouts will be applied to the calendar, so you won't need to reset the calendar layouts in the Calendar Editor.
