Before any assignments or grades can be entered, the grading policy must be defined — either by the district or campus mandating a policy or by the teachers defining their own policies.
Each course can be linked to just one grading policy, and this link must be created once per term and course section.
Grading policies can't be changed after they've been used.
Only sections that use the same policy can have assignments copy from one to another.
The district/campus can define one or more policies for a campus schedule to meet the district grading policy needs. When the district/campus mandates the policy, teachers have no ability to edit or change the policy settings.
The teacher can enter one policy and use for all their courses or enter multiple policies. When the teachers are allowed to define their own policies, they must enter at least one policy before they can enter assignments and grades.
If the district/campus has mandated a grading policy, teachers can begin adding assignments immediately. When you open the Assignments tab in Grade Book, you'll see a Add Assignments command.
If the district/campus has not mandated a grading policy, the Policies tab in Grade Book will display the message, "No Grading Policies Defined." Either the district/campus or teachers must then create at least one grading policy and link courses to it before assignments can be added.
