Employees can choose to split their paychecks between multiple checking and/or savings accounts. For example, an employee may wish to split the paycheck proportionally between two accounts or to deposit a flat amount in a savings account and the remainder in a checking account.
The total percentage must equal 100 in order for the payment election to be saved.
Note: If you don't find the bank routing number in the list, you must enter it in Finance > Banking & Receipts > Banking Setup > Banks.
This example distributes 100% of the paycheck by depositing 80% in the first account and 20% in the second account.
Enter the first account.
Distribution Type: Select Percentage, if it's not the default.
Bank: Select the bank routing number from the pull-down list.
Account Number: Enter the account number for the first account.
Checking?: Defaults to NOT a Savings Account. Select Savings Account if this amount should go into a savings account instead of a checking account.
Rate: Enter 80.
Enter the second account.
Distribution Type: Select Percentage, if it's not the default.
Bank: Select the bank routing number from the pull-down list. Note: This bank may be the same bank as above or a different bank.
Account Number: Enter the account number for the second account.
Checking?: Defaults to NOT a Savings Account. Select Savings Account if this amount should go into a savings account instead of a checking account.
Rate: Enter 20.
This example distributes 100% of the paycheck by depositing $300.00 in a savings account and the remainder in a checking account.
Enter the first account.
Distribution Type: Select Flat Amount.
Bank: Select the bank routing number from the pull-down list.
Account Number: Enter the account number for the savings account.
Checking?: Select Savings Account.
Rate: Enter 300.
Enter the second account.
Distribution Type: Select Percentage, if it's not the default.
Bank: Select the bank routing number from the pull-down list. Note: This bank may be the same bank as above or a different bank.
Account Number: Enter the account number for the checking account.
Checking?: Select NOT a Savings Account, if it's not the default.
Rate: Enter 100. Note: Entering 100 will balance the distribution and cause the remainder of the paycheck after the deduction of the savings deposit of $300 to be deposited in the designated account.
